NHS England has set out plans that WILL allow you to see a GP at the weekend and up to 8pm on weekdays.
Bespoke Bathing have many customers who tell us of their struggles to get an appoitment to see their GP, especially since the Covid-19 pandemic. So we wanted to share this news with you all and a poll to get your views on the changes to our GP surgeries across the UK.
According to NHS England the appointments will be available until 8pm on weekdays and from 9am to 5pm on Saturdays, according to new “enhanced access” plans released recently. You will be able to see your doctor and access out-of-hour services.
And its happening this year, each local hub of GPs is required to provide this service from October 2022.
Also great news for people who like to book online. A letter setting out new contract arrangements for GPs in England also orders surgeries to make at least 25% of their appointments available to book online – a move which could prevent vast numbers of patients waiting for long periods on the telephone to book appointments.
Infact in some areas across the UK you can already book online appointments, like in Bristol. See NHS Bristol website here.
Have your say and complete our poll below. Do you agree or not?
